Dr. Lisa Ruble is a professor in the Department of Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology at the University of Kentucky! She is a licensed psychologist and clinician-researcher, who has provided training and services to the Autism community for more than 25 years. She is also the sister of Leslie, who is on the Autism spectrum.


Dr. Ruble has authored more than 50 journal articles and book chapters, and has received over four million dollars in NIH research funding. She, along with her colleague, Dr. John McGrew from Indianapolis and the Autism Services Research Group, have tested and replicated the effectiveness of a parent-teacher consultation intervention called COMPASS, which stands for the Collaborative Model for Promoting Competence and Success. A current study is now underway, to adapt COMPASS for transition-age youth with autism to improve post-school outcomes!

Dr. Ruble’s latest research also focuses on adult outcomes and quality of life, burnout in special education teachers, parent stress, and parent empowerment.
